1st Grade School Shopping

Joshua is starting 1st grade in August so grandma(me) took him shopping for school clothes. My mom started this tradition for kindergarten with her grandchildren and I am going to carry it on with my grandchildren when they start 1st grade. We went school shopping early because mom could have the baby any day (I hope not for 2 weeks).
First: we had lunch at Bajio
Second: we bought tons of clothes (don't let the sign fool you, I don't think we found 50% off anything but we did have our coupons)
Third: we got ice cream for all the good little shoppers. Savannah got to come along because a sitter was no where to be found and of course mom got to come. We love you Joshua!

24th of July

The celebration started on the 22nd with Alan's Birthday
On the 23rd Autumn and Savannah had their last soccer game and Ang, Jack and Brooke were here to watch it in the heat!

We celebrated with ice cream after the game
We toured Kennecott Copper Mine and saw the big trucks

We tried a little swimming
And went to the Mayan to eat dinner
Oh, by the way, we have 3 additions to our stream; 2 gold fish and 1 black fish(which I have never seen)

I Love Red Rocks

Clarissa and Nick were in "High School Musical 2" at Tuacahn in St. George so we went down on Friday! We need to see these guys more we love and miss them much. Grandpa and Jeff went and we took Tom, Angie and girls with us(Angie got to visit with her family). Clarissa and Nick are all grown up and did a great job in the play. Luckily it was in the indoor building so it was cool. 111 degrees at Tuacahn that day and way to hot for me! Think of the wicked witch in the Wizard of Oz... "I'm melting, I'm melting" and that was me.
As if St. George needs more Red rocks, well they felt this new road needed some interest in this round-a-bout so they made one! It looks real.

1st night we stayed at the Abbey Inn because of the name! It turned out to be very nice! We spent our 2nd night at Don's new south west style home. He twisted our arms when he found out we were staying in the area 2 nights. This is their entry-way patio.
You might be wondering why I used this very dark picture, well this is the view as you step through the door! One word... paradise. (this picture does not show the beautiful colors as it really is)
Another view of paradise from outside
Two guys playing in the pool with ghosts in the water... I think

Grandpa the Dentist

Yes, Grandpa has pulled yet another tooth. They first tried the old "tie the string onto the door knob" but it did not work. So grandpa got the fingers in the mouth and with some toilet paper to secure the tooth, success! Gotta love this picture! Brush your new teeth good - we love you Josh!

4th of July

It all started on the 3rd of July with water fun activities and ended on the 5th of July with an empty house and no noise!

This little Idaho beauty had fun too.
...and the rockets red glare... these little beauties from Walmart are a blast!
Bike decorating and chalk drawing of which non of the beautiful chalk masterpieces can be seen in this picture, but Josh looks great!
Food. Of course there is always Food! Wait a minute there is no food on this table!
1st annual talent show of which will be an annual event
thumbs up, knees together....
This picture is out of order but it couldn't be left out! Grandpa went fishing and to the baseball game with us.
Hold your Torches of Liberty high!
Annual sleep over on the deck. We found out that the deck is no longer big enough, so next year tents are coming out!
4th of July breakfast before the big fishing trip
Fishing for the old and the young. Everyone gets a fishing pole!
This is what we did while the big guys went fishing: painting, moon sand, bubbles and our own version of fishing with plastic fishing poles.
Buzz baseball game and Joshua's fly ball! Next year we will bring our mitts. You had to pay attention to the game or you would get hit in the head with a ball!
Pinata fun and Savannah had the perfect dress to match the event

Happy 4th of July to all and to all a good night!!
